About this webinar
Trauma Radiography is delivered as a scheduled, moderated webinar. Sessions run twice a day, at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM Central, every day except Thursday. The scheduled block is 4 hours, and 3.4 hours of recorded attendance are required for credit. There is no post-test and no quiz — attendance is the requirement, and a moderator is in the room throughout for questions.
Learning objectives
After attending this activity, participants will be able to:
- 1Adapt standard positioning to a patient who cannot be moved, using tube and detector angulation to preserve the required projection.
- 2Prioritise imaging within a trauma resuscitation and describe the technologist's role alongside the trauma team.
- 3Identify the radiographic appearance of the fractures and dislocations most often seen in acute trauma.
- 4Apply cervical spine precautions, transfer technique and immobilisation without compromising image quality.
- 5Select technique for patients in casts, splints, backboards and traction, and for portable examinations at the bedside.
- 6Maintain radiation protection and infection control in an uncontrolled and crowded environment.
