About this webinar
Radiation Safety Patient Care is delivered as a scheduled, moderated webinar. Sessions run twice a day, at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM Central, every day except Thursday. The scheduled block is 4 hours, and 3.5 hours of recorded attendance are required for credit. There is no post-test and no quiz — attendance is the requirement, and a moderator is in the room throughout for questions.
Learning objectives
After attending this activity, participants will be able to:
- 1Explain radiation risk to a patient or family member in language appropriate to a non-clinical audience.
- 2Apply exposure-reduction practices — collimation, shielding, technique selection and exam justification — to routine patient care.
- 3Describe the screening required before imaging a patient who is or may be pregnant, and the documentation that follows.
- 4Adapt positioning, immobilisation and technique for paediatric, bariatric, geriatric and trauma patients while keeping dose as low as reasonably achievable.
- 5Recognise the patient care responsibilities that accompany contrast administration, sedation and continuous monitoring during an imaging procedure.
