About this webinar
OR Radiography Essentials is delivered as a scheduled, moderated webinar. Sessions run twice a day, at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM Central, every day except Thursday. The scheduled block is 4 hours, and 3.4 hours of recorded attendance are required for credit. There is no post-test and no quiz — attendance is the requirement, and a moderator is in the room throughout for questions.
Learning objectives
After attending this activity, participants will be able to:
- 1Describe the sterile field, and identify the movements and equipment placements that contaminate it.
- 2Operate a mobile C-arm and a mobile radiographic unit safely in a crowded operating room.
- 3Position for the procedures a technologist is most often called to — orthopaedic fixation, cholangiography, spinal instrumentation and foreign body localisation.
- 4Apply radiation protection for the patient, the surgical team and yourself in a room where shielding options are limited.
- 5Communicate effectively with the surgeon and the circulating nurse about imaging that is needed during an operation.
- 6Recognise the infection control, equipment cleaning and documentation requirements that apply to surgical imaging.
