About this webinar
Cath Lab Chronicles is delivered as a scheduled, moderated webinar. Sessions run twice a day, at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM Central, every day except Thursday. The scheduled block is 4 hours, and 3.6 hours of recorded attendance are required for credit. There is no post-test and no quiz — attendance is the requirement, and a moderator is in the room throughout for questions.
Learning objectives
After attending this activity, participants will be able to:
- 1Describe the layout of a cardiac catheterisation suite and the role of each member of the procedural team.
- 2Follow a diagnostic and an interventional coronary case from access through closure, naming the equipment used at each stage.
- 3Identify the standard angiographic projections and explain what each is chosen to demonstrate.
- 4Apply dose-reduction practice specific to the cath lab, including pulse rate, magnification, table height and detector position.
- 5Recognise the procedural complications a technologist is expected to spot early, and describe the immediate response to each.
- 6Discuss sterile technique, patient monitoring and hand-off communication as they apply to the interventional environment.
