About this webinar
Basic Radiation Safety Fluoroscopy Review is delivered as a scheduled, moderated webinar. Sessions run twice a day, at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM Central, every day except Thursday. The scheduled block is 4 hours, and 3.5 hours of recorded attendance are required for credit. There is no post-test and no quiz — attendance is the requirement, and a moderator is in the room throughout for questions.
Learning objectives
After attending this activity, participants will be able to:
- 1Describe how x-rays are produced in a fluoroscopic system and how beam energy, filtration and collimation affect patient dose.
- 2Apply the cardinal principles of time, distance and shielding to reduce occupational exposure during fluoroscopic procedures.
- 3Compare the dose implications of continuous fluoroscopy, pulsed fluoroscopy, magnification modes and last-image hold.
- 4Identify the regulatory dose limits, monitoring requirements and equipment checks that apply to fluoroscopy operators.
- 5Recognise the thresholds at which deterministic skin injuries become a risk and describe the steps taken to document and follow up a high-dose procedure.
